Disability Access Consulting

At Rothmark we know it is essential that access to buildings for people with a disability must meet the DDA (Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act 1992). This Act applies to all new buildings, a new part of an existing building, affected parts of an existing building and also change of use to existing buildings.

This also includes constructions that are classed as special needs and accessible facilities, aged care homes, schools and homes that need disability access.

An inspection and report will include an assessment of the following:

  • Lifts to multi-level buildings.
  • Public buildings must have accessible toilets for multi-level buildings, ambulant toilets and grab rails.
  • Bathroom amenities with disability access including handrails and non-slip surfaces.
  • Exit rails and ramps.
  • Correct ceiling height and width for accessible doors for wheelchairs.

We can inspect both Residential and Commercial construction and provide necessary reports!
